H. Dye, jr., today received telegraphic notice of the death of his father, at La Junta, Colo., last night. Deceased was the eldest son of the late Richard and Polly Die, the well known Ionia county pioneers, and went into the Civil war from this county as a member of the First Mich. Engineers and Mechanics. Geo. H. was born in Herkimer Co., New York, and came with his parents to Ionia county in [unreadable, and missing] . . . tie, has three brothers yet living: Bloom and James K., residents of Colorado, and Charles, now living at Battle Creek, Mich.
