Lake Odessa Wave-Times Friday March 9, 1923

DANIEL FRANKLIN DYSINGER
D. Franklin Dysinger was born in Royalton, Niagara Co., N.Y., August 26, 1853, 
and departed this life for a better world, February 20, 1923, after years of 
helplessness and great suffering. He came to Memphis, Mich., in September, 1854, 
with his parents, Daniel and Cordelia Dysinger who came to their farm home in 
Riley township. He was a industrious boy and man.

November 6, 1878 he was united in marriage to Ida Belle Nye, Memphis. In May, 
1878 they united with the M.E. church. When they started housekeeping they 
erected a family alter which they continued up to within a few weeks of his 
death. In his religious life he was devout and faithful, and painstaking in the 
discharge of his duties. He held the office of recording steward for about 30 
years, was a trustee continuously for years, a class leader, S.S. superintendent 
and teacher, and largely through his labor and generosity the present church 
buildings were reared. He joined the Masonic fraternity in 1876 at 23 years of 
age, holding many offices. He had been a Gleaner since 1897.

Mr. Dysinger was a dutiful son, a true friend and a kind and loving husband. He 
leaves a widow, one brother, H.E. Dysinger, Lake Odessa, four cousins, Chas. 
M.Dysinger, Lake Odessa; Mrs Alice Oatley, Lake Odessa; Arthur Dysinger,Newago; 
Mrs.Belle Knapp of Lymon, Col.; and Dr.Geo. Dysinger, Minneapolis, Minn.; and 
many friends to mourn their loss. The funeral was held from the late home 
Thursday, February 22nd, conducted by his pastor, Rev. Edward Hocking.
