J. Eagle, Mother of Mrs. Jay Harwood, Passes Away on Wednesday Mrs. E. J. Eagle, 80, well known resident of Berlin Center, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. H. Lane, in Detroit, following a brief illness. The body was shipped to Ionia Thursday for funeral, to be held from the home of Mrs. Jay Harwood, a daughter, in Orange township, but arrangements in detail had not been arranged Thursday. Interment will take place in Saranac cemetery. Mrs. Eagle was one of the most well known residents of the community in which she lived and for the past three or four years had spent her winters in Detroit with a daughter and her summers in Orange, with a daughter, but retained the old homestead at Berlin Center, where she lived for more than 60 years. Her husband died 25 years ago. She was a devout member of the Berlin Center Methodist church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. H. Lane of Detroit and Mrs. Jay Harwood of Orange Township; one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Osborn of Lansing. Mathew Bradley of Ionia was called to Detroit for the body.
