J. Eagle was very largely attended from his late home on Wednesday, the service being in charge of Rev. J. F. Orwick, a former pastor of the Orange charge, but now the chaplain of the state’s prison at Jackson. He was an intimate friend of Mr. Eagle in his lifetime, and spoke truthfully of deceased as a kind husband and loving father. Coming to soon after Mr. Eagle’s return from Mexico, in apparently better health, the news of his death came as a shock. There were many relatives and friends from away, among whom where: Geo. Eagle of Farmington; Thos. Eagle of Pontiac; Mrs. Hiram Johns of New Hudson; Mrs. Dr. Osborne of Pontiac; Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Holmes of Owosso; Mr. and Mrs. S. Andrews of Grand Rapids; Charles and Chance Haight of Flint; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Lane of South Bend, Ind., the latter a daughter. The remains were encased in a rolled steel casket, with nice oxidized trimmings, and taken to Saranac for interment.
