Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Ionia MI, Thursday December 19, 1946
John J. Eaves, 72, resident of Palo vicinity for 70 years, died at his home in 
Palo about 3:55 a.m. Thursday.  

He was born June 16, 1874 in Fowler, moving to Palo at the age of two.  In 
1895 he was married to Nellie Vangorder.  He is a retired famer and a member 
of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and of the Maccabees.

Service will be held Sunday at his home at 2:30 p.m. with interment at Palo 
cemetery.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Everett Steen of Rochester, New 
York; and two sisters, Mrs. Susie Little of Palo and Mrs. Edward Allen of 
Holly, New York.
