Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Sept. 27, 1976

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. A.L. Echlin, 77 former director of the foundry school at the 
Ionia reformatory died Friday.

He had directed the school for many years before moving to California 26 years 
ago.

Survivors include his wife, Swava; two sons, Larry of Arkansas and Paul of Ft. 
Wayne, Indiana and one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lesly) Whitesides of Grand Haven.

A memorial service was held in DeAnza Park church in San Diego.
