He was born June 23, 1910 in Ullin, North Dakota. He worked 39 years in the service department at Gibson’s prior to his retirement. His wife Letha preceded him in death in 1981. Survivors include four daughters, Jean Childress of Buckhanon, West Virginia, Jan Siel of Ionia, Carol Bergeron of Pinconning and Terry Flynn of Edmore; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters, Ann Lunday of Holland, Barb Moriarty and Mary Simanski of Chicago, Christina Adams of Mecosta and Susan Silverthorn and Betty Drzywda, both of Greenville; and four brothers, Frank and Pete of Belding, John of Stanton and Matt of Flint. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Courser and Johnson Funeral Home in Belding, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in the River Ridge Cemetery in Belding. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home beginning at 4 p.m. today.
