She was converted at the age of 17, during the ministry of Rev. George Haller and though sick for several years the one thought for her was that the Lord's will be done in her life. She was a patient sufferer for many years and always had a smile for her friends who came to visit in their home and appreciated every kindness that was given in her behalf. Her sister Rose did her best to minister to her needs and frequenty words of gratefulness and encouragement were expressed for the untiring services given for her comfort. These two sisters were at home together and sympathetically. Patiently labored for the comfort and best welfare of their loving parents in their declining years. Mrs. Eckardt for many years was the teacher of the junior class and in their lives we see contributed her uselfish service and devotion to the church as they are assumuing its responsibilities. She was also the efficient recording secretary of the WMS from the date of its organization until a few years ago when because of her failing health she no longer assumed those duties. She had a deep and positive religious experience and thus we mourn not as one without hope but look forward to a blesssed reunion in the spirit world. We shall sleep but not forever. There shall be a glorious dawn. We shall meet to part no never On the resurrection morn. She is survived by one brother Frederick A., three sister, Rose, Mrs. Julia Schuler, all of Woodland township, and Mrs. Mary Kunz of Grand Rapids, besides a large host of other relatives and friends. Dear Savior, kindly lead me to my home. I need but thee. In this dark world, wherever I may roam. I trust in Thee Watch thou my steps, while struggling on the way. That is Thy path I faithfully may stay. Once I reprint where darkness had the day. The light seemed gone. The day was hid in darkest mystery, I saw the dawn. In my distress and grief I prayed to see. Some ray of light that I might walk with Thee. So when resigned to walk Thine own sweet way I saw more clear Since then the way grows brighter every day. I have no fear. By faith I see beyond the stream my home. Which I at last shall reach with Thee alone. With Thee at home, secure from earthly strife. No more to weep; There I shall know why oft the way of life. Was dark and steep. With the great throng Ill sing before the throne; He led me home. O blessed home, sweet home. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical church of which she was a lifelong member with the Rev. Klonfenstein officiating assisted by the Rev. Hertler. The funeral text. "Thy Will BeDone" was chosen by the deceased in the home of her affliction. Those from-out-of-town who in attendance at th funeral were Mrs. Mary Kuknz, I. F. Edkardt, and Robert Eckardt of Grand Rapids; Eugene Eckardt of Ann Arbor; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Garlinger of Nashville; Mr. and Mrs Andrew Finkbeiner of Middleville; the Rev.
