Ionia County News - Thursday July 1, 1943

CHARLES J. ECKARDT

Charles J. Eckardt, 58, committed suicide at his farm home, one and one half 
miles south of Woodbury Friday. He had been  in a sanitarium at Cutlerville, but 
had recently returned home.He was born in Sunfield township, and had always lived 
in that vicinity.He married Miss Audrey Laird, on June 23, 1924, and their entire 
married life was spent on the Laird homestead.Surviving is the widow, A Brother, 
Herman was killed in World War I. Funeral services were held Monday at Woodbury 
United Brethren Church with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
