The news of the death of Maybelle Armour Ecker which occurred in Chicago last Saturday caused sadness in the hearts of her very many friends in this city and community. The deceased was born in Cedar Lake, Barry county and while a young girl came to Belding to reside. For a number of years she worked in the Richardson Silk mills and was counted among their trusted and faithful employers. Maybelle and her sister Ella united with the Congregational church at the same time and were also members of the Young people’s Christian Endeavor society and the Sunday School. She was married to Roy E. Ecker about 5 years ago and went to Chicago to reside. After a brief illness she died in St. Josephs’ Hospital, aged 26 years. The funeral services were held in the Congregational church. Rev. J.E. Butler preaching an impressive sermon. The floral offerings were many silent and beautiful tributes of respect to the memory of the deceased. Her remains were laid at rest in River Ridge cemetery by the side of her father. Miss Laura Richardson of Greenville and Mrs. J.E. Ferguson rendered appropriate and beautiful hymns for the solemn occasion. Thus passed away, in the prime of a happy life, one whose virtues have endeared her to the hearts of a large circle of friends, one who was a fond sister a dutiful child, and a devoted wife. But the calm and almost cheerful acquiessence which she manifested in the will of God, justifies the assurance that she is “forever with the Lord.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/e/ecker7074gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/mifiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
