The remains were taken to the home of her brother, Riley Owen, where funeral services were held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made in the old Belding cemetery beside her sister. Mrs. Eckert had been a resident of Belding for about twenty years. About four weeks ago she went to visit at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Seer, in Grand Rapids. From there she went to Holland to visit with her son, Walter. Mrs. Eckert had been suffering with a numbness in her face and other parts of her body for some time. She became ill, while in Grand Rapids, but did not think her condition serious and made the additional trip. Mrs. Eckert made her home here with her daughter, Mrs. Ida Herrington. She also has a daughter, Mrs. Vida French of Stevenson, Washington, and another brother, William Owen of Grand Rapids. She was a step-daughter of O. Beckwith of this place. Pernicious anaemia was given as the cause of death.
