Ionia Sentinel Standard, 20 Feb 1990

Howard E. Eckley, 79, of 4806 Olmstead Road, Ionia, died Feb. 17 at a Grand 
Rapids hospital.

He was born June 5, 1910 in Lyons Township, the son of Louis and Sadie Fortune 
Eckley.  He attended Ionia Public Schools.  He was an Army veteran of World War 
II.  He was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Ionia, the Prison 
Ministries organization, and Golden Year Senior Citizens Group of Lyons/Muir.  
He married Anna Warden in 1935.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Stanley, Walter and Roger, all of 
Ionia; a daughter, Joyce DeBoer of Cedar Springs; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-
grandchildren; two brothers, Donald and Thomas, both of Ionia. 

He was preceded in death by brother and granddaughter.

His body will repose until noon Tuesday at the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir.  
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God with the 
Rev. Ron Sarbow officiating.  Burial will be in North Plains Cemetery.
