Aug. 5, 2016 DOROTHY LUCILLE ECKLEY Dorothy Lucille Eckley, 92, of Ionia, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016. She was the daughter of Elba and Mary Wandel. She married Thomas D. Eckley on Aug. 19, 1944 and together raise four children. Dorothy enjoyed baking, crocheting, word search puzzles, time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and most of all she loved her Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eudora Ludwick; brothers Ted, Alfred, Leslie and Robert. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Thomas; daughters Ruth (Richard) Halsted of Westphalia, Linda (Carleton) Park of Chambersburg, PA. Doris (Bill) O'Connor of Williamson, MI and son, Terry (Bernice) Eckley of Gladwin; grandchildren Kristen(Dennis) Martin of Owosso, Thomas (Tia) Halsted of Pewamo, Shane (Lori) Park of Chambersburg, PA, Camilla (Geoff) Ellis of Trafalgar, IN, Melinda (David) Posey Brownsville, TN and Nathan (Casey) Eckley; six step-grandchildren; Bill (Bridget) O'Connor, Nicole (Bill) Peters, Shawn (Kristen) O'Connor, Kevin(Goshen) O'Connor , Brandon (Jesse) O'Connor; and Catherine O'Connor; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Alfred) Keefer of Little rock, AK; brother Dale Wandel of Ionia; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor David Iseminger at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 5, 2016 at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Ionia. Interment will follow at North Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m., Thursday Aug. 4, 2016 at the Lehman funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church or to the First responders of Ionia in memory of Dorothy.
