December 4, 2021 ECKLEY Stanley Howard Eckley, age 84 of Ionia, MI. passed away Saturday November 27, 2021, in Pewamo with his family by his side. Stan was born to Howard Eugene and Anna Marguerite (Warden) Eckley on September 24, 1937 at their home in Muir, MI. He had three siblings,Joyce, Walter and Roger. He married Dorothy Barens in1961 and together they had three daughters,Toni, Theresa and Tina. Stan was known as the energizer bunny, always on the go and Stan The Man.He loved life and lived it to the fullest.He enjoyed spending time with his family, going on camping trips, the Silver Lake sand dunes, monster truck shows, bowling, dancing to some good music, telling stories, watching and feeding his birds and wildlife at his home on Prairie Creek. He loved his cats Penny and Purdy and riding his Harley with his Harley family as well, among numerous other activities.He was a great mechanic and was always tinkering on something.He had the best smile and contagious laugh that would light up a room wherever he was. He loved having breakfast at the Lumber Mill Inn in Muir sitting at the round table with his friends or meeting new friends. He was in the Air Force stationed at the Kincheloe AFB in Kinross,MI where he was a firefighter, he went on to work for the state Highway Department, the Department of Natural Resources which he retired from, his own Stan's Well Drilling Business and Contract Dewatering in Saranac, MI.along with working for Feehan and Son Excavating/Landscape Supplies. Stan is survived by his children Toni (Scot) Feehan of Muir, Theresa Platte of Portland, Tina (Matt) Cook of Pewamo, stepson James Wells of Saranac.His grandchildren; Jeremy (Missy) Feehan, Rachael (John) Klein, Bob, Brandon (Hunter) Brent ad Chelsea Platte, Tracie (Nicholas) Wilson,Julissa(Jordan) Munsters, Michael (Aubrey) Cook, and like a grandson Kaiden Franks. Seven grandchildren and one on the way.His brother Roger (Mary) Eckley, lifelong friends John and Ginger Snyder, Lloyd Lake, Billie Montgomery and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce DeBoer and brother Walter Eckley. Cremation has taken place at Stan's request and he will be buried at a later date at North Plains cCemetery on Olmstead Rd in Ionia. A Celebration of Stan's life will be held at the ionia Moose Lodge on Wednesday, December 1st from 4 to 7 pm.Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Treasure for Troops.
