 LAKE ODESSA- Jack R. Eckman, 40, of Brentwood, Tenn., formerly of Lake Odessa, 
died Sept. 18 at his residence.

 Born July 23, 1952, in Hastings, he was the son of Don and Adie Haddix Eckman, 
and was graduated from Lakewood High School in 1970.

 He was employed by Lake Odessa Auto Parts, was the parts and service manager 
at Lass Auto Sales in Lake Odessa, and managed auto parts stores in Lake Odessa 
and Nashville. He worked for 11 years at various divisions of General Motors in 
lansing, and months as an operating technician at Saturn Corporation in Spring 
Hill, Tenn.

 He was an avid amateur drag racer who was well known and respected by 
competitors, fans and policemen throughout the area. 

 Surviving are his partner, Karen Potter; his parents, Don and Adie Eckman of 
Woodland; two sisters, Mrs. Larry (Bonnie) Balli of Jakarta, Indonesia, and 
Debbie Baker of Hastings; a brother, Jim Eckman of Sacramento, Calif.; his 
grandmother, Ethel Haddix of lake Odessa; and two nieces, two nephews, and a 
great niece.

 Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Lakewood United 
Methodist Church, with thte rev. Ward Pierce officiating.

 Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park.

 the family will be at Koops funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, Tuesday from 2 to 4 
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

 A memorial for the education of his nieces and nephews has been established in 
care of the funeral home.
