May, 25, 2016 ADIE ECKMAN 1926-2016 Adie Eckman, age 89, of Lake Odessa, passed away on May 22, 2016 at Green Acres Assisted Living in Ionia, Michigan. She was born on Dec. 27, 1926 to Howard and Ethel (Edwards) Haddix in Lansing, Michigan. She married Don Eckman on April 15, 1946 and he survives. Adie was a homemaker and a member of Lakewood United Methodist church. Adie loved Bible study, walking, traveling, making fabulous dinners, and spending time with her family. The family will always remember the wonderful photo albums that she created and family history she wrote. Adie is survived by Don, her loving spouse of 70 years; daughters Bonnie (Larry) Balli, Debbie (Gary) Smith; son Jim (Cathy) Eckman; grandchildren Darcy (Greg) Howard, Bob (Kris) Baker, Joshua (Melissa) Balli, Amy (Brandon) Pepper, Jessica Balli, Holly Clouse, Heather (John) Smoes, Jay (Christina) Smith; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Lorna (Roger) Sherman, Janet Thomas, Patsy (Don) Lenz, Judy (Keith) Warner; brother Richard Haddix; and brother-in-law Mel McCloud. She was preceded in death by her father Howard F. Haddix, mother Ethel Haddix; son Jack Eckman; sisters Gerri (Leonard) Eno, Virgie (Calvin) Hiller and Sandy McCloud; and sister-in-law Jean (Jerry) Sullivan. Visitation will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel, Inc. Lake Odessa, Michigan from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, lake Odessa MI with John Waite officiating. Burial will take place at Woodland Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the Lakewood United Methodist Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
