Alfred Trenerry officiating. Mr. Eckman, 84 years of age, a member of William H. Borden post G.A.R., died suddenly Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rose Mizner, 607 Bayard street. Mr. Eckman served in the Civil war in the Eighth Michigan infantry, enlisting in 1861 and being mustered out as a result of typhoid fever. Besides Mrs. Mizner, he leaves another daughter, Mrs. Susan Peterson, of Grand Rapids, and a son, George, of Kalamazoo.
