A tender and gentle man, who was selfless in his love for his family, he will be remembered for his passion for golf, corny jokes and his heroism through a long and riddled battle with cancer. Jerry worked at Kentwood Powder Coating in Grand Rapids for 19 years. He recognized the importance of faith, knew Christ as His Savior and was a member of Shiloh Community Church. He adored his daughters and participated actively throughout their growing-up years. He even served as a Girl Scout co-leader, assisting his wife in this realm for several years. His participation in the DeCycle youth program at Shiloh was a highlight of his life. His daughters’ friends were his sons and daughters too, and he welcomed them with a caring heart that had no boundaries. He was proud of his military service in the Navy from 1964-1968. The wealth he left his family cannot be measured, as no monetary value can be placed on love, self-sacrifice and family devotion. He will always be loved and missed by those who survive; his wife of 26½ years, Vicki, daughters, Melissa Almas and Ericka Eddington; son-in-law, Joshua Almas; significant family member, Gary Dysard; grandchildren, Cadence Almas and Jerry Dysard; mother, Juanita Woodard and brothers, Tom Eddington of Florida and Ben (Leslie) Woodard of Sears, Mich. Visitation will be on Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh Community Church. Interment will be in Otisco Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Shiloh Community Church, Belding Library, Belding Museum, Heartland Hospice or Sears Church of God.
