Funeral services for Florance Eddy were conducted from the home, 641 West 
Washington Street, Monday afternoon at 4:30, and from the Boynton funeral 
chapel at 5 o’clock by Dr. W. F. Kendrick.  Interment took place in the Balcom 
cemetery.

Mr. Eddy died at his home Saturday morning following many weeks of illness.  
He was born in Berlin Township November 16, 1854.  When a young man he was 
married to Cora Johnson, who died of typhoid fever in 1884, leaving one son, 
Flint, now a resident of Oregon.  In November, 1885, he married Sarah West, 
who with her two sons, Clarence J. Eddy, of Flint, and Glenn, of Lansing; 
three grandchildren, and the Oregon son survive.

C. J. Haight sang a solo, “Nearer My God to Thee.”  Bearers were Emery More, 
I. L. Cotton, William Stowell, George Harris, Albert Hodges, J. C. Beattie, 
chosen from the Modern Woodmen lodge.
