EDDY Charlotte, MI Bruce W. Eddy, age 65, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, Dec, 21, 2017 at Eaton Community Palliative Care Charlotte. He was born May 21, 1952 in Lansing the son of William Harper and Rosa may (Sawdy) Eddy. Bruce grew up in Carlton Center and graduated from Lakewood High school in 1970. Soon after graduation he took a job as a camshaft grinder at Oldsmobile in Lansing. He then went on to work as a dynamometer operator, and became an electronic technician. He retired from GM after 32 1/2 years. On January 30, 1977, in Woodland he married Debra Jean Stadel. Bruce was an analytical thinker and enjoyed working on all things mechanical. A passion of his was collecting and restoring antique radios. He could take any old dilapidated radio and return it to a beautifully functioning heirloom. Bruce also was a huge car buff He took great pride i his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. Before the kids were born, he could often be found with it at the drag strip awaiting his next run. Bruce was an avid NASCAR fan. His favorite driver was Martin Truex Jr. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed using it on others. Bruce was also a real lover of nature. Whether it was growing trees, flowers, of just taking in the outdoors. Bruce enjoyed it all. He also enjoyed Rock and Roll music and riding his Harley Trike. Bruce could often be found playing his electric bass guitar with the band Fly by Nite. Throughout his life Bruce enjoyed the company of their many family cats. He was especially proud of his two boys, They meant the world to him and he was very proud of the men they have become. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Debra; sons, Eric B. (Amanda G.) of Medina, OH, Mark R. Eddy of Parshall, ND; siblings, Georgia (Ted) Richardson of Cedar Springs, Linda (Keith) Brace of Hastings, Jim (Lynn) Eddy of Hastings; father-in-law, Bob (Marsha) Stadel of lake Odessa; brothers-in-law, Doug Stadel of Lake Odessa, David (April) Stadel of Maryville, TN, Daryl (Melanie) Stadel of Charlotte; special aunt Ruth Stadel, who was like a second mother, of Freeport; aunt, Doris Bjork of Hastings; uncle, Fred Sawdy of Hastings; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parent; an infant brother; and mother-in-law, Carol Stadel. A memorial service was held Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at Crossroads United Brethren church, Charlotte with Pastor Ricky Hull officiating.
