Lake Odessa Wave
         RITES HELD FOR MANILA EDGAR
   Mrs. Manila L. Edgar, age 79, of 703 Sixth Avenue, Lake Odessa passed away at 
Pennock Hospital, Hastings Friday morning.  She had been a patient there for one day.
   Mrs. Edgar was born in Newaygo, Mich., May 30, 1898, the daughter of John and
Minnie (Ochempaugh) Peterson.  She graduated from the Newaygo high school and from 
Eastern Michigan University.  She taught a total of ten years in Newaygo, Lansing and 
Sarasota, Florida.
   She married Henry Robert Edgar June 15, 1922 in Lansing and moved to Lake Odessa
in 1935.  Mrs. Edgar was a former member of the Eastern Star in Newaygo and was 
affiliated with the Christian Science Church of Lansing.
   She is suirvived by her husband, Henry Robert;  a brother, Allen Peterson of
Newaygo;  a sister, Mrs. R. O. (Harriet) Carstens of Grand Rapids.
   Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel,
Lake Odessa, Rev. William Hertel officiated with interment in Lakeside Cemetery.
