March 12, 1971 Roy C. Edlin, 78, well known Easton township farmer, died on Thursday afternoon at his Potters road residence following a short illness. Born in Bloomer township, Montcalm county, May 30, 1892, he was the son of Charles and Cynthia Dunsmore Edlin. He moved with his parents to the present Ionia farm home in 1902 and attended Ionia high school. December 12, 1912, he was married in Ionia to Wilma G. Hawley. They made their home at the present location the past 58 years. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1962. In the late 1930's he accepted employment with the AAA as field representative working in that capacity until the middle 1940's when he returned to farming. He was a former trustee of Easton United Methodist Church and chairman of the pastor-church council. Surviving besides his wife, Wilma, are a daughter, Mrs. William Verburg of Grandville; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Roy Terry of Tampa, Fla.
