Carol was born July 30, 1939, in Covington, Kentucky, to Harry and Carol (Drown) Keitz. She had two stepfathers, Irvin Barkus and Frances Zander. Carol moved to Ionia, Michigan, as a young girl and attended and graduated from SSPP in Ionia, Michigan, in 1957. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary Lasco and together they had five children. Carol later married Ted Edlin who preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Portland, Michigan. Carol is retired from The United States Postal Service. She enjoyed time with her family, camping, playing cards, blue grass music and cooking. Carol is survived by her children; Cynthia Lasco of Ionia, Bradley (Lynne Burns) Lasco of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Tammy (Jeremy) Evans of St. Cloud, Minnesota; three brothers, Ronnie (Bridgette) Keitz of Gilroy, California, Harry (Judy) Keitz of Dallas, Georgia, and William (Marcia) Barkus of Marietta, South Carolina; two sisters, Terry (Billy) Arnold of Key Largo, Florida, and Patrece (Gary) VanVleck of Ionia; six granddaughters, one grandson and six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Lenora Lasco and Brian Lasco; and brother, Thomas Keitz. Per Carol’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Father Thomas Boufford officiating.
