Greenville Daily News, 15 Mar 2007 Susie A. Edmonds, 85, of Belding, passed away Tuesday evening, March 13, 2007, at Spectrum Health United Memorial Campus, Greenville. She was born April 25, 1921, in Trout Lake, the daughter of John and Bessie Butler McMillan. Susie was well known and well liked in the Belding area, having been a waitress at Driftway Inn for more than 21 years. Susie was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 4406 in Belding. She enjoyed books, reading and loved her family. Susie will be greatly missed. She was married on May 5, 1938, in Trout Lake to Burdette Edmonds and he preceded her in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Shirley Jean; two grandsons, Robert Elvert and Edward Elvert; her brothers, Dugal and John; and three sisters, Johan, Grace and Thelma. Susie is survived by her children, Emma and Cecil Furman of Ionia, Ronald and Teresa Edmonds of San Diego, Calif., Deloris and Raymond Gillespie of Belding, Larry and Judy Edmonds of South Pointe, Ohio, John and Karen Edmonds of Sheridan, Terry and Sue Edmonds of Quincy, Sandra and Chuck Onstwedder of Orleans, Roger and Carolyn Edmonds of Greenville; 25 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment will follow in River Ridge Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a Veterans of Foreign Wars memorial service following visitation.
