Edmonds, 79, of 319 Maple, Muir, died early Wednesday morning at Ionia County Memorial hospital after a five-week illness. Born in Essex township, Clinton county, August 2, 1892, he was the son of George and Cora Nash Edmonds. He attended Maple Rapids rural school. In February of 1916 he was married to Mina Loudenbeck and she preceded him in death in January of 1971. An only child a son, Alden, also preceded him in death. He was a farmer until 1927 when he moved to Ionia and worked at Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company. He was employed 30 years at Michigan Reformatory where he retired as captain in August of 1962. He had lived in Muir since 1936 and was a member of First Christian church of Muir. Surviving is a brother, Ernest Edmonds of Muir. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Christian church in Muir. Rev. Roger Wright will officiate and interment will be at Payne cemetery at Maple Rapids. Until noon Saturday Mr. Edmonds will be at Shaw- Rivett-Hull funeral home in Muir.
