Ionia Sentinel Standard
Vernie C. Edson, 61, of 332 North Street, died Wednesday night, March 14, at 
Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids, after being a patient there for some time.  
He was a World War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He 
had been employed at the Gibson plant in Belding.

Surviving are the wife, Brook Jane, of Ionia; two daughters, Mr. Warren 
Bennett of Pierson and Mr. Roger Dian of Flint; a son, Edsel who is serving in 
Korea with the armed forces; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Myers of Saranac and 
Mrs. Rosa Fineout of Boyne City; and three brothers, William of Saranac, Roy 
of Detroit and Floyd of Boyne City.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the Morris Funeral Home with 
the Rev. Glen McCarty officiating.  Interment will be in the Saranac cemetery 
under the auspices of the V.F.W. post.
