The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, July 25, 1929
Melvin Edwards, operated on for appendicitis at the Community hospital July 8 
and submitting to a second operation a few days following the first operation, 
died at the hospital Wednesday evening.  The funeral services will be held at 
the home five miles west of Lake Odessa Saturday morning at 10 o’clock.  The 
interment will be in the Lakeside cemetery.

Mr. Edwards was a native of New York but came to Michigan shortly after his 
marriage.  He leaves a widow and four children.  All of the children are under 
14 years of age.
