Ionia Sentinel Standard, 31 Mar 2000

Mrs. Esther M. Eggleston, 94, of Ionia, passed away March 29, 2000, at Wilson’s
Foster Care Home.  She was born the daughter of John and Dora (Truesdell) Martin
on Aug. 29, 1905, in Ionia.  

She graduated from the Ionia High School.  She worked at the Ypsilanti-Reed Co.,
A.O. Smith and General Motors.  She married Harlon (Bill) Eggleston in 1928 and
he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1981.  She was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Ionia.

Surviving are one daughter, Genevieve Green of Florida; two granddaughters,
Cindy Webb of Florida and Dianna Havens of South Carolina; and several nieces
and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and two
sisters. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday from the Cook Funeral Home,
Ionia, with the Rev. James Bennett officiating.  Interment in Balcom Cemetery. 
Visitation will be on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel of
cook Funeral Home, Ionia.  Memorial contributions can be made to the First
Baptist Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
