EGGLESTON
Phyllis E. (Hankis) Eggleston, 85 of Ionia, passed away April 8, 2016 in Lowell.
Phyllis was born January 2 1931 to Erith (Bill) and Marian (Whittaker) Ward in Ionia.

Preceding her in death are her parents; first husband, Lester Hankis; second
Husband, Harvey Eggleston; son, James L. Hankis and one step-daughter Barb Herbert.

Surviving is her daughter LuAnn (Colon) Battle of Ionia; son, Ronald (Tamara) Hankis
of Saranac; three step-daughters, Delores Priest of Ionia, Marlene (James) Short of
Stanton, and Karen (Roger) Stevens of Carson City; two step-sons, Les Hankis Jr. of Texas and
Darrell (Peg) Eggleston of Stanton; sister, Patricia (George) Slowinski of Ohio; Her
grandchildren Chad (Kerry) Battle of Lowell; Jennifer (Robert) Belt of Saranac;
James (Jim) W. Hankis of Portland. Six great-grandchildren, Brennan, Joslynn and Landon Battle
of Lowell; Christian and Caitlin Belt of Saranac; and James Ta Hankis of Saranac.
Several step-chjildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Balcom 
cemetery in Ionia, with Reverend Kenneth Harger officiating. Arrangements made by
lake funeral Home of Ionia. Online condolences at www.lakefuneralhomes.com
