The Ionia Sentinel, Thursday, January 4, 1900

Harvey W. Eldridge, a well known Orange resident, died Jan. 1, of cancer of 
the stomach.  Deceased was 59 years of age.  Funeral Jan. 3, 1900, interment 
in Balcom cemetery.

Harry W. Eldridge was born in the town of Canandaigua, N.Y., Dec. 3, 1841, and 
died Jan. 1, 1900, being 58 years and 29 days old.  He was one of a family of 
ten children, of whom three brothers and one sister survive him.  His father 
came to Michigan when he was but four years of age, settling in the township 
of Orange, in which place he lived until his death.

On January 6, 1861, he was married to Susan McNiel; to this union were born 
seven children, all of whom mourn the loss of a kind husband and loving 
father.  

He was converted some twenty years ago.  In the year 1887 he united with the 
East Berlin W. M. church, where for twelve years he has been a true and 
faithful member.
