Eldridge, of Lake Odessa, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 26, 2010. He was born on May 2, 1922 in Lake Odessa the son of Edward and Pearl Eldridge. He was a lifelong a farmer, enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and a man with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed going dancing with his wife of 35 years, Betty. Lawrence was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church in Lakes Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kitty Arnesen; sisters Marie Wickham and Donna Hilley; son-in-law Jeff Sandborn. Surviving are his wife Betty; children Sharon (John) Ackerson, Diane (Richard) Capps, Keith (Michelle) Merryfield and Ken Merryfield; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; sisters Madelene (Calvin) and Margaret; brother LaVerne Eldridge; son-in-law Ronald Arnesen; special nephew Jim Wickham and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor David L. Flagel at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
