Justice Payne with a jury and Undertaker Bretz were soon at the place of the accident. They soon learned that it was Eugene Eldridge, who lived with his father-in-law, John Spencer, on the Alexander place. The body was all cut to pieces and scattered along the track for nearly half a mile. The body was gathered up and brought to Bretz’s undertaking rooms and the inquest was adjourned until today. The last seen of Mr. Eldridge was about 8 o’clock Tuesday night, when Mr. Cheathen saw him going by his house on his way home. Mr. Eldridge leaves a wife and five children. He was about 40 years of age. As near as can be ascertained four or five trains passed over the body before it was found.
