Eunice L. Kleven Hamblin Eldridge, aged 93, of Ionia, passed away Dec. 3, 
2008.  She was born Nov. 7, 1915, in Menominee, Wis., the daughter of Henry and 
Nora (Fossum) Kleven.

She graduated from Ionia High School in 1933 and from Grand Rapids Davenport 
University in 1935.  Eunice attended Shiloh Community Church and was a former 
member of Ionia Business and Professional Women’s Cub.  Eunice married James 
(Jay) Eldridge on June 24, 1949 in Ionia.  He preceded her in death in 1997.  
She loved to read and dance and spend time at the cottage at School Section 
Lake.  Eunice was employed by Ionia Federal Land Bank from 1946 until she 
retired in 1976.

She is survived by her daughters, Judith Wandel of Ionia, Jayne (Craig) Rohner 
of Hinsdale, Ill. and Stacy (Matthew) Ladegaard of Chicago, Ill.; two grandsons 
Daniel Wandel and John Wandel of Ionia; and seven great-grandchildren, Tiffany, 
Stacy, Kristina, Jennifer, Jamie Lee, Jordan, Jessica Nicholas, Abbey, Olivia 
and Faith Ladegaard; great-great grandchildren Katelynne, Brianna, Baylee and 
Jake; one sister Neva Valentine of Lake Odessa; one niece, Janet (William) 
Pitman of Los Angeles; one nephew, James (Cheryl) Valentine of Lowell; two 
great-nieces and one great-nephew.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 
son-in-law Robert Wandel; and brother-in-law Boots Valentine.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with 
Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment at Lakeside Cemetery.  The family 
will receive friends and relatives 1 hour prior to the service.  Memorial 
contributions may be made to the Shiloh Community Church or Ionia Area Hospice.
