Belding- Frances Rebecca "Fran" Elkins, 72, of Ludington, formerly of Belding, 
passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 25, 2012, at Spectrum Health Butterworth 
Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Fran was born in Grand Rapids on June 18, 1940, the daughter of Craig and 
Lorena (Smith) Elkins.

She enjoyed her job as grant manager at Cove Women's Shelter in Ludington. Fran 
loved to quilt and was a member of the local quilting group in Ludington, 
enjoyed reading and the use of the local library, traveling and recently 
returned from a cruise to Alaska. Fran loved living in Ludington where she has 
resided for the last 10 years.

Fran is loved and survived by her daughter, Jodi Jolly of Belding; her 
grandchildren, Matthew Reynolds, Martin Mason, Richard Mason, Spencer Shore, 
Brittany Shore; her great-grandchildren, Payton, Cameron, Jackson, Colin and 
Emerson; and her extended family who loved her like a mother, David Shore, Lynn 
Mason, Allan Shore and Duane Shore. Fran also is survived by several nieces and 
nephews who loved her dearly. She will be sadly missed by many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Tim; her brother, Jack; 
and sister, Janice Cotter.

In keeping with Fran's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of 
Fran's life will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Oakgrove Funeral 
Home, 3060 W. US 10, Ludington, with a light luncheon served afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cove Women's Shelter, 906 E. 
Ludington Ave., Ludington, MI 49431, or an animal shelter or library of your 
choice. Envelopes also are available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding, where cremation services were entrusted.
