Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 1 Feb 1960

Mrs. Jesse Ellis, 85, died January 31 at her home, 823 West Main street.  She 
was born on a farm east of Lyons, October 15, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. C. Howard Wright and was married in 1916 to Charles Ellis.  Mrs. Ellis was 
director of dormitories at Bronson Methodist hospital in Kalamazoo nine years.  
Since leaving Kalamazoo she had resided at her present home.  She was a member 
of the First Methodist church.

Surviving besides her husband are a son, Robert H. Ellis of Elkhart, Ind.; 
three grandchildren; one brother, Charles A. Wright of Lyons, and one sister, 
Mrs. M.E. Reusch of Kalamazoo.

The family will be at the Estep funeral home in Muir Tuesday afternoon and from 
7 until 9 Tuesday evening to receive friends.  the body will be taken to the 
Lyons Methodist church at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday where service will be at 2 p.m.  
The Rev. Heath T. Goodwin, pastor of the First Methodist church of Ionia, will 
officiate and burial will be at Lyons cemetery.
