Rev. Hubert S. Ellis, 80, died Monday at his route one, Cedar Springs home.  He
was born August 27, 1882 in Macomb county.  Rev. Ellis was the father of the
late Victor Ellis, Belding funeral director.  He conducted his last funeral
service January 1, 1963, at total of 3,355 funerals in his lifetime.  He
performed his 1,963rd wedding ceremony December 31, 1962.  Rev. Ellis was a 32nd
degree Mason.

Surviving are his wife, Muriel, a sister, Mrs. Nora Strew of Mount Clemens; a
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Viola Ellis of Belding; five grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at Belding Methodist church Thursday at 2 p.m. with
burial at River Ridge cemetery at Belding.  The body will be at Ellis funeral
home until time of service.  Officiating will be the Rev. Thomas Rebentish and
the Rev. Ralph Dean.
