Pioneer Resident Died In West

Injuries to the  hip, received in a fall, resulted in the death of Mrs. Charles
Dimmick Ellis Friday, May 6th in her home at Boulder, Colorado.  Although nearly
90 years of age she was in excellent health and her death was most unexpected.

Services were held at Boulder and the remains brought here for burial by Mrs.
Lena Mays, of Boulder,  Services were also held at the Fitzjohn funeral home
Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.; Rev. H.S. Ellis giving prayer and Christian Science
readings by Clifford Knapp and hymns by Clayton Knapp.  Bearers were Ellis and
Roy Ranney, Harry Connell, Carrol and Byron Ellis, grandsons, and Billy Ellis, a
great grandson.

Burial was at the Otisco cemetery where she was laid to rest with Dimmick Ellis
who died in 1908.  Her loss will be felt by many Belding and Boulder people and
relatives, especially her daughter, Mae, who, owing to poor health, could not
come with the remains.

Mrs. Ellis was born at Clinton, Michigan, September 6, 1842, her maiden name
being Eliza Antionette Lockwood.  She was married to Mr. Ellis in 1862, their
lives being spent on the Ellis farm until his death.  Shortly thereafter she
joined her daughter, Mae, in Colorado, making her home there until her death. 
Other relatives besides her daughter, are the Ranneys, of Greenville; Mrs. Geo.
Ellis and grandchildren; Mrs. Gladys Dutt, of Lansing; Carrol Ellis, of Detroit;
Byron Ellis and wife, of Birmingham and 7 great grandchildren.
