Viola M. Ellis, 74, of 1205 W. Ellis, Belding, died Monday, Sept. 4 at Luther
Nursing Home in Grand Rapids.  She was born March 27, 1915 in Racine, Wisconsin
to Albert and Catherine Hansen Jensen.  She married Victor Ellis on Oct. 1, 1937
in Greenville.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1963.  With her husband,
she owned and operated the former Ellis Funeral Home in Belding from 1937 until
his death in 1963.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Skip (Wanda) Hebert of Belding and Mrs.
Louis (Vicki) Outman of Grand Rapids; three sons, David W. of Newark, Calif.,
Robert A. of Parma, Ohio, and Hubert S. of Sidney; 13 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Stanley A. Jensen of Greenville.  She was
also preceded in death by one brother, Glen, in 1984.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home with the
Rev. Dick Woodward of Belding First Congregational Church officiating.  Burial
will be in River Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Alvah N. Belding Library.
