Robert E. Ellis passed away after battling cancer. He was preceded in death by 
his parents, Elmer and Anna Ellis and a brother Gerald (a.k.a. Joe) who was 
killed in action in Manilla while in the US Navy. 

Robert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Doris. He is also survived by their 
children, Patricia ( Phillip) Van Duinen of Ada, Nancy (Rick) Roth of Lowell, 
Gerald (Randi) Ellis of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Diane (Joe) Rinard of Gresham, 
Oregon; a sister, Joan (Sonny) Siciliano of Irons; nine grandchildren.

Robert was retired from the post office in Lowell. He worked as a relief movie 
projector operator for many years and the Strand Theatre in Grand Rapids, Mi. He 
served three years in the Army during WWII. He worked several years on the 
Township Election Board and was on the Board of Directors for Lowell Area 
Housing. He was a life member of the Clark-Ellis Post #152, American Legion for 
46 years and a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. 

Mr. Ellis was blood donor for over 30 years for the Grand Valley Blood Program.

Mr. Ellis was cremated. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist 
Church in Lowell on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the church in Lowell or 
Lowell War Service Monument, VFW, Barry Emmons
