He was born July 17, 1874, in Keene township, the son of William V. and Anna Ellison. He was a resident of the county all his life, living for the past 24 years in Ionia. He retired a few years ago from his trade as a carpenter and contractor. Ellison was married to Delia Wickham who died in 1917. In 1932 he married Minnie Swain who survives him. Surviving him besides his wife are two sons, William of Flint and Fred, Greenville; two step-daughters, Mrs. Fred Klug of Palm Springs, Calif., and Mrs. Ivan Swain of Lansing; three step-sons, Louis and Delbert Swain and Bird Woodard of Ionia; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Stebbins, of Ionia; and three brothers, Harry of Riverdale, Harvey of Saranac and Floyd of Ionia. The body was removed to the Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan where services will be announced later.
