B. Ellison, 77 years of age, died at his home in Easton township Tuesday morning, February 11, after a short illness. Mr. Ellison was the son of Jonathan and Julia Ellison who came to Easton from New York State soon after the Dexter colony settled in Ionia. They purchased over 600 acres of land from the government bordering on Grand River and began the slow process of clearing the land. Mr. Ellison was born in 1858 and could well remember helping his father in the farm work, clearing the land and building their present home. He was a lifelong member of the Easton Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to Adella Smith, of Oakland County, who survives him with their sons Ray, of Fenton, and Grant, of Easton, and four grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, Samuel, of Belding, and two sisters Mrs. Anna Brown and Mrs. Esther Potter, of Saranac. Funeral services will be conducted at the Stebbins funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Frank Loomis, pastor of the Easton community church officiating.
