Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 9 Apr 1942

Samuel Ellison, 81, former Belding resident who was born in Easton township,
died at the Ionia convalescent home at 10 o’clock Thursday morning.

Funeral services have not been definitely arranged but it was believed they
would be Saturday.

Mr. Ellison was a Spanish-American war veteran.  He is survived by one sister,
Mrs. Esther Potter, of Saranac.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.]
