Ionia Daily Sentinel, 25 Jun 1913

Margaret Elizabeth Harwood was born in Berlin, Ionia county, August 28, 1859; 
was married to John Elvert January 2, 1878.  He preceded her in death about 
seven years.  Four sons were born to them:  Edward J. of Lyons; Arthur of 
Orange; Fred of Peoria, Ill., and Frank of Lyons.  Besides these she leaves 
three sisters, Mrs. Millard Mitchell of this city, Mrs. Thos. M. Cook of 
Allegan and Mrs. Fred Eddy of Berlin and four brothers, John H. of Arizona, 
Edmond B. of Portland, Cyrus P. of this city and William L. of Berlin.  She was 
a patient sufferer.  Her illness dated from November 25, 1906.  She was 
stricken seriously worse some three weeks ago and the end came on Saturday, 
June 21, at the home of her son, E. J. Elvert.  The funeral was attended from 
the Church of SS. Peter and Paul on Monday morning, June 23, the pastor, Rev. 
Fr. McCarthy paying fine tribute to her, the personal worth of deceased during 
the progress of his discourse.  Three sons and three brothers acted as 
bearers.  Interment was in Mt. Olivet.
