Edward E. Elvert, age 44, of Saranac, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005. 
He was born on April 5, 1961 in Ionia, the son of Robert and Emma (Furman) 
Elvert. Mr. Elvert was an avid hunter and fisherman. Edward was a Sgt. at 
Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility for nearly 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert; grandparents Ray and Oneta 
Elvert and Burdette Edmonds. Surviving are his son, Scott (fiancé Nikki) 
Elvert of Saranac; father, Robert (Yvonne) Elvert of Ionia; mother, Emma 
(Cecil) Furman of Ionia; brothers, Michael (Nancy) Elvert of Columbus, 
Missouri and Ronald Elvert of Ionia; sister, Susan (Paul) Arnsby of Ionia; 
grandmother, Sue Edmonds of Belding; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral Service, will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Harger, Pastor at 11 
a.m. Tuesday, at Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heath Street, Orleans. 
Interment will follow at Easton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 
the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 2 p.m. to 4 
p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. For those desiring, memorial contributions 
may be made to the Ionia County Hunting and Fishing Club, in memory of Mr. 
Edward E. Elvert.
