Elvert, 68, or rural White Cloud died Thursday morning at Kelsey Memorial hospital at Lakeview after being a patient three weeks. Born in Ionia May 22, 1906, he was the son of Arthur and Tilla Linebaugh Elvert. As a child he moved with his family to rural Portland where he attended the Portland schools. October 24, 1928 he was married in Lansing to Oneta Storum and they made their home there until moving to Ionia in 1930. After his retirement in 1969 they moved to their resort home near White Cloud. While in Ionia he worked as a self employed electrician and for several years owned and operated Ray’s TV repair service. He was a former member of the Ionia Moose lodge transferring his membership to the Fremont Moose lodge when leaving Ionia. Among his survivors are his wife, Oneta; son, Robert and daughter, Mrs. Shirley Burns, both of Ionia; eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home. Rev. Nolan Williams of the Zion United Methodist church will officiate. Committal services will be conducted at the funeral home and interment will be later at Balcom cemetery.
