Sherman J. Ely, 73, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Muir, died Sunday morning at
his home in Phoenix.  He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Ely of Muir and
was born January 25, 1884 in Muir.  He was at one time an architect in Lansing.

Surviving are his wife Nellie, a son, Rolland Ely and two sisters-in-law, Mrs.
B.R. Ely of Ionia and Mrs. R.C. Ely of St. Petersburg, Fla.

Funeral service will be held at the Gorsline funeral home in Lansing Saturday
morning at 10 o’clock and burial will be in the Muir cemetery.
