He was born September 16, 1910 in Kent County near Lowell, the son of George and Effie Boomis Emelander. He worked for Ionia county road commission from 1928 until 1941. He owned and operated his own farm in Easton Township until March of 1968 at which time he sold the farm and moved to Lake Odessa. He was married May 28, 1932 in South Bend, Ind. To Mary Risser and she survives. Surviving also are one daughter Mrs. Leo Feuerstein of rural Saranac; three grandchildren; four brothers, harry and Tony of Ionia, George of Belding and Dowey of Traverse City; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Matschikowski of Detroit, Mrs. Henry Wetherbee, Mrs. George Hanline and Mrs. Claude Thomas of Ionia; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Boynton funeral home Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Terence M. Wood of Wyoming officiating. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery.
