She went to be with her Lord after a courageous struggle with cancer. She was born Feb.24, 1914 in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of August V. and Maggie Pickering Risser. She was married May 28, 1932 in Indiana to Jacob Emelander and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1968. She was employed as a seamstress for General Motors for 30 years retiring in 1972. She was a past member of Easton United Methodist Church and Saranac Community Church. She is survived by her daughter Joan and Leo Feuerstein of Belding; two granddaughters, Pam and Dave Vroman of Saranac and Penny and Jerry Rosema of Lowell. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Kristin and Travis Vroman and Shawn Rosema; two step-great-grandchildren, Brand and Tonya Rosema and Greg Rosema; and one step-great-great-grandchild, Sierra Rosema. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Peggy Feuerstein in 1988 and her brother, Andrew Risser. Visitation will be Friday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding. A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery, Easton twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Home of Hope-Hospice of Greater Grand Rapids.
