The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, December 29, 1978


Charles Emelander, 22 of 313 Higgins Road, Saranac died Thursday evening at 
Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, Grand Rapids.  He was born in Ionia County 
May 13, 1956 to Stanley and Dorothy Phillip Emelander.

Emelander lived all of his life in Saranac and attended the Saranac schools.  
He was employed by Atwood Brass Corp., Lowell.

Survivors include his mother and father; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry 
Emelander of Ionia; two brothers, Kenneth Emelander at Home; John Emelander of 
Saranac; three sisters, Linda Emelander of Saranac and Kathy and Polly at home.

Funeral services will be at the Roetman-Lake funeral home in Saranac Sunday at 
1 p.m.  Rev. James Frank will officiate.  Burial will be in the Saranac 
cemetery.  Family will be at the funeral home Friday and Saturday from 7-8:30 
p.m. to receive friends and relatives.
