DOUG EMELANDER, 79
Doug Emelander, 79, of Saranac, passed away January 14, 2018.

He was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Berlin Township, the son of Harry and Frances
(Crowell ) Emelander. Doug married Loraine Sible on June 18, 1960, in Ionia. He farmed 
all his life and loved bird watching.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Loraine Emelander of Saranac; children, Julia
(Brad) Brillhart of Lowell, David (Debbie) Emelander of Manistee; grandchildren, Cynthia,
Anna, James, Abigail and Peter; sister, Dorothy Ferguson of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stanley Emelander and
brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dorothy Emelander and Donald Ferguson.  A memorial 
luncheon will be held at Lowell United Methodist Church, 621 E.Main St., Lowell on 
Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m.

Those wishing may make memorial contributions in Doug's name to Lowell united 
Methodist church of  Spectrum Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements in care of Lake
funeral Home of Saranac.
